“You guys burnt the place down, turned it into a single column of flame. More people died there in the firestorm, in that one big flame, than died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.” –Kurt Vonnegut, who was in Dresden when it was bombed in 1945, and wrote a famous anti-war novel, Slaughterhouse Five, in 1969.
On the evening of February 13, 1945, an orgy of genocide and barbarism began against a defenseless German city, one of the greatest cultural centers of northern Europe. Within less than 14 hours not only was it reduced to flaming ruins, but an estimated one-third of its inhabitants, possibly as many as a half a million, had perished in what was the worst single event massacre of all time.

What makes this horror so diabolical is that the British and American forces were perfectly aware of the amount of tortuous suffering these defenseless Human Beings would endure.
On 27/28 July 1943, British air forces firebombed the city of Hamburg in much the same way. After the atrocity US forces went in to analyze and document the results of this ‘incendiary raid’. The image below was included in a final US War Dept. report titled, U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey — Medical Branch Report, “The Effect on Bombing on Health and Medical Care in Germany.” It was released on 30 October 1945 – 9 months after the Dresden atrocity. This report is filled with photos of burnt, charred, and skeletal remains of civilians in various locations in the city. It could hardly have been related to ‘health and medical care in Germany’ – the report was nothing more than a cold analysis of the effects, period. This is clear by this photo’s caption, and all the others in the report. The caption also claims that this family was in an air-raid shelter – this is highly improbable as the viewer can see the rubble behind them, hardly the look of an interior of a ‘shelter’. It is more likely these innocents were in an exterior location. While the report claims that the photos contained therein were obtained post Hamburg, it is reasonable to assume that there are examples from the Dresden atrocity as well – those photos being disguised as having come from Hamburg because Hamburg was considered ‘strategic’ due to its wartime industry while Dresden had no ‘strategic’ value at all…unless one considers it ‘strategic’ to annihilate tens of thousands of unarmed and unprotected civilians. In that case, it was a strategy of outright genocide .
The video below is a graphic depiction of the real Holocaust perpetrated against the city of Dresden, Germany near the close of WWII. Dresden was a city of no military value. It was instead a cultural city filled with refugees fleeing the horrors coming from the East in the shape of the advancing and diabolical bolshevik forces. This atrocity committed by US and British air forces, and later compounded by ground troops from the Soviet Union, should not and cannot be swept under the rug of history – though none of the perpetrators ever faced any tribunal, it was a documented war crime in the most heinous extent.
The Dresden Holocaust was produced by The Impartial Truth at YouTube – below the video is a description and commentary from its creator.
The video is the depiction through story and silent narrative of the real Holocaust that was delivered to a densely populated city of refugees, fleeing from a war that was forced upon them on September 3rd 1939. I have also included Herbert Smagons paintings that depict other atrocities in conjunction with the Dresden fire bombings which took place on February 13-15 1945. To learn more in depth of this holocaust click the link below and watch the documentary “Hellstorm”. It should be noted you need not be a National Socialist nor a German to lament these crimes against Humanity. The people of the world will arise and the truth will be known in the end.
“I belong to the generation of the eye-witnesses of the 20-century connected with the fate of the Germans. As educating artists feel I forced the experienced whole truth of the history, which is concealed until today if possible, artistically to naturally process themselves and for future generations testify.” – Herbert Smagon
The paintings are by Herbert Smagon, who was born on January 2, 1927 in Karwin, Silesia (nowadays part of Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia), which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He experienced first-hand the harassment that the German minorities suffered in that particular region by the Czechs. He fled with his family to Berlin. In 1943 he served his military service as an auxiliary staff member of the German Luftwaffe, later on he studied in the Academy of Fine Arts of the Austrian capital.
Herbert Smagon belongs to the generation of eyewitnesses who survived the hell of the European catastrophe. His work tells the story of the horrors of the spoils of war (perpetrated by the so-called victorious ‘Allied Forces’ on the German people) that the political institutions wish to silence even up to this day.
His paintings about the end of WWII in Germany are like a graphic depiction of ‘HELLSTORM The Death of Nazi Germany’ by Thomas Goodrich.
